happy 4th!

I used to love the fourth of July growing up. We would have the anual block party at my neighbors house. Eat tons of food, homemade ice cream, at set off lots and lots of fireworks. It was always so fun and one of the highlights of my childhood. Now being a mom I desperatly want my kids to have those same kind of fond memories. It's such a bummer though because you can't have fireworks around here. This year Ben had to work (what else is new) but my mom had the day off so we went to the Cayucos parade. there was crazy mad people there but we squeezed our way up to the front and had a blast. I don't know what it is about parades but I always shed a tear when I see that first marching band walk down the street. I just love how parades bring people together. I love the nostalgia of it all. Something so simple as people in an old car driving down the street waving at you. It always brings me to tears. I'm a dork I know.
When Ben got home we went back to Cayucos to watch the fireworks. That was super fun but freezing. We weren't really prepared for that. There was so many drunk high school kids. One kid was walking in front of us and completely face planted hard onto the sand. It reminded me of my drunken stuppor days. Ahhh...those were the days.
Zaiah loved the fireworks and was yelling wow, ohh, cool after every one. Zeke on the other hand was so scared and hid under the blanket the whole time begging to go home. Crazy kid.

zeke said when he grows up he wants to sell donuts. Zaiah then chimed in and said i'll be the money girl! They make me so proud.

I've been dying to start my own cafe/restaurant/bakery/playground. A place where moms can bring their kids and play, have parties, relax. All organic. the playground would be environmentally friendly with recycled materials. The food would be really good but cheap. I know keep dreaming. We could sell the mini donuts. not organic! but still yummy. So if you know anyone that can invest 100,000 to get me going let me know.

Eli's face got realy sunburned when we went down to Ventura. I felt really bad. Now it's pealing. Poor little guy. He's a trooper.

We got Zaiah a bunk bed from Ikea. We moved her bed out of the room. mOved everything else out of the way. Ben got all the 500 pieces out of the box and there was no hardware! Not a single nail, screw, nothing! What a let down.

sleepy heads...

This is what they look like when they're awake. So cute and sweet.

My kids fall asleep in the most random ways. I wish i was better at enforcing naps . With Zaiah I could just put her in her bed, say night night and she'd be out. But when Zeke came along (mind you they're 18 months apart). Everything went out the window and the kids fell asleep where they landed. Yesterday the baby woke up from his nap (by the way he is an amazing sleeper and i love him very much for that)and i went to go get him. The kids were sitting on the couch watching a cartoon or as I call it mommy is about to loose it and she needs a little peace and quiet. I come out of the room after I change the babies diaper and i find them both sleeping on each other on the couch.

Zeke fell asleep on the floor one afternoon while holding a log. That's all i have to say about that.

And last but not least zeke fell asleep on the couch (are you seeing a pattern?) they sleep everywhere but their beds including the costco shopping cart. We needed to wake him up ecause it was getting late in the day. We are very cruel and tried to wake him up by putting whip cream in his hand and tickling his nose. It didn't work though.

life is good...

don't really have anything monumental to talk about really. I've just really been enjoying life.  Eli is such a chunky monkey weighing in at 15 lbs!  Oh yeah i lost 5 lbs at weight watchers last week.  Makes up for the 2 lbs i gained the week before.  It's been so flippin hot it made me so extremely happy that we didn't move to Atascadero.  Los Osos "It doesn't get any better than this." That's my new mantra. I saw it on a sign at the Rexall.  I almost got it for Holly for her birthday. She's the one that convinced us to move ot here when every one was saying how horrible los osos is because of the sewer issues.
Sewer shmuer.
This is just a lot of rambling on about nothing. Hope you enjoyed. I feel a lot of pressure to keep this blog updated for all my loyal fans.

da zoo!

I've wanted to go to the zoo for a while now.  This isn't the first time the kids have gone but it just seemed like a fun thing to do. I always forget though how disappointed I get with the Santa Barbara Zoo.  The animals are always sleeping and the only fun thing to look at is the penguins.  Everything is always under construction.  I'm not sure what I'm looking for really. The kids always have fun.  We always go to the carousel after the zoo.  The carousel keeper man makes a parent ride with the kids standing in between them.  That parent was me but as the ride started going I decided to sit down on the bench right behind the kids since the kids really didn't need me there.  As soon as i came back around to the carousel man he said he would have to charge me 2 bucks if i were going to sit down.  I got up real fast....

computer melt down

So i'm not sure what happened but my computer is not recognizing that it has a mouse and a keyboard plugged into it. A computer is pretty much useless without those two little tools so needless to say I'm lost. I'm using our old laptop which is very unreliable and won't let me check my email and shuts down if you look at it the wrong way. All my pictures are on my other computer. I can't check my email. THis sucks!!! Moral of the story don't ever buy a dell!

Anyways.....yesterday was Zaiah's last day at preschool (at least for a week until she goes to summer school)...that will be the longest weeeeeekkkkk of my life by the way. I'm excited for the summer. I have to have nice weather all the time. If i don't I get depressed. That is why I never will move from this area. It's perfect almost all year round.

I've really been motivated to get in shape a.k.a. loose this baby belly that i've had since Zaiah was born). I started weight watchers and was super pumped on it. The first two days I wrote everything down that i ate, Calculated the points, et cetera et cetera. WEll after that I had no time for that nonsense so i just figured i could do it all up in the ol' noggin. I was really excited for my first weigh in. I thought for sure at least 2 or 3 pounds were shed off my behind. So i get on the scale and I"VE GAINED 2.6 LBS!!!! Talk about depressing. I don't know what happened. I switched to all low fat non fat foods. Eating super healthy, fiber up the ying yang. I'm exercising. My friend Drea tried to make me feel better by telling me "Maybe your boobs are full." Yeah that's it. 2.6 lbs of breast milk . :)

Well i have no recent pics on this computer but i'll try to find a oldie but goodie for the two people that are reading my blog. Hi holly!

one year later...

So I am a huge blog reader (a.k.a. stalker) but am horrible at actually doing my own. Obviously since I haven't blogged in a whole year. But I decided to see if the ol' blog was still up and it is. I don't know who will read this really but I thought it would be fun to post stuff for anyone who was interested in finding out what it's like to have 3 kids under 4 and a half. Not like I'm the only mom on the planet who has a crazy life. I also thought it'd be fun to jot down little memories, funny stuff, pics, whatever of my kids. I think I'm so bad at blogging because I'm really really lazy. like i don't want to even capitalize anything ( well zeke also broke my shift key on my computer). anyways...I'm already bored of this. this isn't going good. I'll post some pics....

So i was cracking up reading my last post about thinking about having three kids and one year later look who shows up on April 28th,2008. What a trip. God does some crazy stuff sometimes. Oh well what can i do but go with it.

On a side note zeke and zaiah were fighting for me to read books with them at bed time. I had to take zeke in the other room because it got so bad (and zaiah kicked him (literally) out of her bed and onto the floor.) I told zeke...."I need to read books with zaiah and put her to bed first and then we can read books." He hysterically crying said no. I said well what do you want me to do with zaiah then? He says, "lose her." Lose her?, i say. yeah put her on the street.
